Wendy’s opened a new restaurant in Toronto as it pursues expansion plans across Canada, Retail Insider reported.
The outlet on Blue Jays Way in Toronto — near Rogers Centre, home of baseball’s Toronto Blue Jays — features Wendy’s Global Next Gen concept, with modern interior designs, streamlined kitchen layouts, digital ordering systems and energy-efficient appliances. Existing locations will be upgraded with the new design.
The burger chain plans to have 50 restaurants in Québec by 2030, according to the report. It currently has 15 in the province , include three new locations in Papineauville, Sherbrooke and Thetford Mines.
Wendy’s is looking for 2,000 sq ft locations in high-traffic areas in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
