Longtime MCAP staffer Leo St-Germain has been promoted to vice president of originations on the commercial mortgages team.
St-Germain first joined MCAP in 1991 to help start up a syndication and brokerage unit, later leaving to join a captive mortgage brokerage. He returned to assist with creating the commercial mortgages group, which now handles more than $4bn per year of production.
In the new role, St-Germain leads a 50-person team that specializes in Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp.-insured mortgages. He’s also looking to add staffers who can offer new perspectives.
“It’s a very professional group with a lot of expertise – we literally have an aggregate of hundreds of years of experience,” St-Germain said in a release.
